This competition isn't meant to prove who is better or who is a good mechanic. This competition is meant to highlight mechanics that stand out in and are recognized by their local community, by giving them public recognition from a national organization.

This competition isn't meant to prove who is better or who is a good mechanic. This competition is meant to highlight mechanics that stand out in and are recognized by their local community, by giving them public recognition from a national organization.
Submitting information:
- Submissions must be made to the PBMA website, via the Mechanics Nomination Submission Form.
- All submissions and attached materials become property of the PBMA.
- By submitting the contact information for yourself and the mechanic you are implying that you have legal consent to do so.
- By submitting any photographs, you agree that the photographs are yours to use and that PBMA may use it for any promotional purposes.
Weekly winner:
- Each week, a winner is chosen randomly from the pool of nominations and named as that week's MoTW.
- Each week, the PBMA will feature the nominated mechanic on their website and on all PBMA social media outlets.
- Each week, the PBMA will mail a framed certificate and a limited edition Abbey / PBMA tool.
Annual details:
- All weekly winners will be automatically entered into an annual Mechanic of the Year contest.
- Only mechanics that have been recognized during Mechanic Monday within the current competition period are eligible for the annual award.
- The annual competition begins January 1, 2018, with the last entry to be posted on December 31st 2018.
- The voting period will be open from January 1, 2019 until January 12 2019, with the winner announced on January 14th 2019.

Prizes:
- The annual winner will receive meals, airfare and lodging to attend the North American Handmade Bicycle Show (location TBD)
- This includes round-trip, domestic economy class airfare from their home airport to wherever NAHBS is happening!
- Up to $400 in airfare funding.
- The winner will also receive a bicycle tool package valued at $500 from Abbey Bike Tools, to be presented in person at the North American Handmade Bike Show 2019.
